August 9 with Orshe + Special Post-Class Activity: Watercolour Meditation

Class Alert: Due to the wet weather, today's class (August 9) will take place indoors on the main floor of the CIRS building at 2210 West Mall.

After practicing with Orshe, stay and join us from 1pm-2pm for a special Flow & Create: Watercolour Meditation:

Take part in a lightly-guided and immersive outdoor creative experience that follows the gentle practice of yoga with the meditative art of watercolour painting. Our artist facilitator, Jessica Kang, will provide guidance to immerse yourself in playing with watercolours without any goals or expectations. Jessica will share her favorite ways to unwind through watercolour painting warm-ups. Embrace the freedom of drawing lines, shapes, and patterns without any specific goals in mind, and witness how the water and paint interact in mesmerizing ways. The meditative quality of this open-ended play will help you unwind and let your creativity flow!

This activity is designed for you to paint and create while on your mat. Supplies will be provided.

About the artist: Jessica is a UBC alum and UTown@UBC’s returning community artist, who documented her travels through watercolour sketches while living and working abroad for a decade. Now back in Vancouver, she has shifted her artistic focus to BC-based landmarks and architecture, drawing inspiration from the stories and lives attached to these places. She has been commissioned to create art for BC’s most beloved institutions, including the Vancouver Public Library, Science World, and UBC. Jessica aims to provide others with a beautiful piece of British Columbia to cherish, no matter where their journeys may lead them.
